Direct School Admission (DSA)
Greendale Secondary School will be accepting students for Secondary 1 commencing in Academic Year (AY) 2023 via the 2022 Direct School Admission-Secondary (DSA-Sec) Exercise. We warmly invite Primary 6 students seeking admission into Greendale Secondary to participate in the DSA-Sec Exercise as another avenue besides the Secondary 1 Posting Exercise, based on the following talent areas (please click on the respective links to find out more about them):
The table below outlines (i) the specific talent areas through which P6 students can be admitted into our school via the DSA-Sec Exercise; and (ii) developmental opportunities that DSA students can look forward to. These talent areas are based on our school’s signature Applied Learning, Learning for Life and Student Leadership Programmes.

Leadership

Leadership is for students who possess strong leadership potential and are keen on developing and honing their leadership qualities through service to others and the community. | · Sustained positive learning attitude and outcomes

For all Leadership DSA students:

Outdoor Adventure (OA)

Outdoor Adventure is for students who possess physical, personal and social attributes to thrive in challenging and unfamiliar outdoor experiences and are keen on strengthening these attributes through outdoor activities. | · Sustained positive learning attitude and outcomes
· Conduct grade (Very Good and above) · Active participation in CCA · Special consideration will be given to students with exposure to relevant outdoor activities e.g. swimming, kayaking, rock-climbing, camp-craft, first-aid, etc. · E-Interview, Questionnaire and Situation Based Question (for shortlisted candidates) |
For all OA DSA students:
· ODAC (Outdoor Adventure Club) CCA · Outdoor skills programmes e.g. pioneering, wilderness first aid, etc. · Outdoor activities including 1 & 2 Star kayaking, hiking, high elements · Planning and execution of signature outdoor adventure programmes and events e.g. national orienteering challenge, sea expedition, etc. · Learning journeys on outdoor/environmental education For selected OA DSA students: · Work Experience programme in related fields · Advanced Elective Module (AEM) @ Republic Polytechnic on Developing Outdoor & Adventure Learning |
Application (5 May 2022, 11am to 1 June 2022, 3pm)
- All applicants will apply for DSA-Sec through a centralised DSA-Sec Portal.
- Applicants who are not studying in MOE schools and are keen to seek admission to Greendale Secondary via the DSA-Sec Exercise will need to first apply for a registration number (RGxxxxxxx) before they can apply through the DSA-Sec portal. Applications for a registration number should be submitted via an online form on the MOE DSA website (https://go.gov.sg/nmsdsa-sec-application).

Step 1:
Pre-Application |
• Understand the different talent areas and selection criteria for admission to Greendale Secondary via DSA-Sec.
• Please read through our FAQ first before proceeding with the online application. • Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the school’s academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent. |
Step 2:
Online Application May to Jun 2021 |
• Application for DSA-Sec should be submitted through the centralised DSA-Sec Portal. The application is free-of-charge.
• The portal will open on 5 May 2022, 11am and application will close on 1 June 2022, 3pm. • For more details, please refer to MOE website http://www.moe.gov.sg/dsa-sec • Students can indicate up to three choices (maximum of two choices for the same school under two different talent areas). • Parents/guardians who are unable to apply online should approach their child’s primary school for assistance. |
Step 3:
Selection Jul to Sep 2022 |
• Shortlisted applicants will be invited through email or telephone to participate in the selection process at Greendale Secondary.
• The school reserves the right not to release the reasons for non-selection and/or situational activity / interview results. |
Step 4:
Notification of Application Outcome By 12 Sep 2022 |
• All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 12 September 2022.
• Applicants who clearly do not meet the shortlisting / selection criteria may be notified earlier. |
Step 5:
School Preference Submission 31 Oct - 4 Nov 2022 |
• Students who receive at least one DSA-Sec offer (including from SOTA) will receive email and SMS notification via Postman.gov.sg on the School Preference Submission in end-October 2022. Both parents are required to login to the DSA-Sec Portal to submit up to three school preferences.
• If parents are unable to submit their school preferences online, they should approach their child’s primary school for assistance to submit the school preferences on their behalf. • DSA-Sec offers not taken up will be considered as lapsed at the end of the School Preference Submission period. |
Step 6:
Results Release Nov 2022 |
• Students studying in MOE mainstream schools will receive their DSA-Sec results together with their PSLE results through their primary schools.
• Students not studying in MOE mainstream schools will receive their DSA-Sec results via email. |
Commitment from Successful DSA Applicants
Students who are successfully admitted to the school via DSA are expected to honour their commitment to the school, and participate in the activities related to the talent they are selected for from Secondary 1-4.
